The 60th anniversary celebrations of the National Photographic Art Society of Sri Lanka which began on Friday will end today 7th November at the Sri Lanka Exhibition a and Convention Centre (SLEEC) with a variety of activities including a two bridal show, a saree fashion show and a Japanese Kimono show.
The Society which was started in 1950 was the brainchild of the late Wilson Hegoda, a photographer as well as a man who inspired many Sri Lankans to take up photography as a profession as well as a hobby.
Several lectures on photography were held during the exhibition including on subjects as wedding and digital photography.
To commemorate the event, an international exhibition of photography too will be held on 21and 22 November in the Kandy city centre under the patronage of the International Federation of Photographic Art (IFPA). |
