The hotel arms of diversified Sri Lankan conglomerate Aitken Spence announced it had recently taken over the management of another Indian hotel property, its fifth.
The hotel, Grand Palace Hotel and Spa in Tamil Nadu's Yercaud, has been added to a hotel management portfolio that already includes the Atithi in Puducherry, the Poovar Island Resort in Kerala, the Barefoot at Havelock on Andaman Islands and the Tamara in Coimbatore.
Meanwhile, according to the Managing Director of Aitken Spence Hotels, Malin Hapugoda; “The tourism industry in India has tremendous potential and we are glad to increase our Indian portfolio.
It is evident that we were offered the management of Grand Palace and Spa as we have established our presence in India. Further we have been recognised for our ability to identify the potential in existing properties and transform them into star class, award winning hotels.”
