Seasonal rock with ‘Nalin & The Star Combination’

When there is sound rapport, a band rises to its fullest stature. This is exactly symptomatic of the insuperable standard ‘Nalin & The Star Combination’. November 20th was a great night at the Avendra Garden Hotel, When ‘Nalin & The Star Combination’ played for the Negambo Bharatha Association, Sing-a-long cum dance. With so many Sing-a-long performances this too was a highly successful event. The turn out was splendid.

‘Nalin & The Star Combination’ have a secret behind their popularity, it is the style and selection of music they render. Their experience versatility and wide repertoire speak for their success as a super combination. Already booked for the Christmas eve and New Year’s Eve, at one of the most prestigious venues, Waters-edge. The band during the festive season have been working crowded schedules and look forward to other commitments in the months to come.

With tight musicianship, music of Golden oldies, Sri Lankan pop and bailas, make them one of the best loved entertainment outfits in Sri Lanka. The band comprises of Nalin Fernando on guitar/ vocals, Shirmila Fonseka on vocals, Dilantha Silva on keyboards, Hirushke Fernando on guitar/vocals and Jagath Peiris on lead guitar/ vocals.

Incidentally, Nalin & The Star Combination, has put out a song about Sri Lanka cricket, and Peace in the country. They plan to launch their CD with their originals soon. Apart from the cricket song it includes love songs, ballads, and fast 6/8. Some of them are popular songs, Shirmila had sung with her father, late C.D.Fonseka. Most of the songs are composed by Nalin. Radio and TV clips are due very soon.
