Bridge Federation of Asia & Middle East (BFAME), which is the Zone Four of the World Bridge Federation (WBF) will be conducting its Sixteenth Zonal Championships in Chennai from the 25th May to 2nd June 2011.
The Zone Four of WBF comprises of the following twelve countries ---Bahrain, Bangladesh, India, Jordan, Kuwait, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Syria.
The Zonal championships are held in each of the eight zones every two years. The winners and runners up of Open (National), Ladies and Seniors Teams qualify to take part in the Word Championships, which will be held in Netherlands in October this year.
The 15th Zonal Championship of Zone 4 was held in 2009 in Jordan.
The Bridge Federation of Sri Lanka (BFSL) being a founder member of BFAME and a member of the World Bridge Federation has participated in the last fifteen BFAME Championships.
This year the BFSL will be represented by the following team in the Open Championships: Dr. Dilanjan Soysa (Captain), Bandula Senaweera, K.P. Baskaran, Rex Perera, Ms. Cera Fernando and Edward Perera.
