The Men's and Women's Badminton teams of the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) battled it out in the spirit of true sportsmanship at the recent International University Badminton Championships organised by the University of Moratuwa.

The SLIIT team emerged runners-up in the Men's and Women's categories, and walked away with awards for individual performance in the following categories: Women's Doubles Champions - Gayani Perera and Prathibani Bambarandage, Women's Singles 1st Runner-up - Umalka Perera and Men's Singles Semifinalist - Umesh Fernando.

The SLIIT teams were up against contenders from Malaysia, India and other university teams from Sri Lanka and the South Asian region.
