A Sri Lankan dairy equipment company has emerged as a major supplier of food, dairy and other process equipment to the global industry including Nestle Switzerland.
N. Sivakumaran, Chairman and Managing Director of Industrial Stainless Steel Fabrications (Pvt) Ltd. (ISF) said the company has developed highly advanced PLC Controlled Vacuum drying systems to Nestle India and due to the cost advantage and the quality o the equipment supplied its parent in Switzerland has appointed ISF Industries Pvt Ltd as its sole supplier of this equipment to their group of companies operating worldwide.
A programmable logic controller (PLC) or programmable controller is a digital computer used for automation of electromechanical processes, Mr. Sivakumaran said.
Speaking to the Business Times after receiving the SAARC Country, platinum Award 2011 at the Achievers of Industrial Excellence Awards 2011 ceremony hosted by the Ceylon National Chamber of Industry, Mr. Sivakumaran said that it is a noteworthy achievement for a Sri Lankan venture to enter the Indian market and to emerge as a leader. He added that his company has installed and commissioned over 1000 Milk Cooling Tanks and it remains as one of the largest suppliers of Food & Dairy Equipment in India. ISF is equipped with the Manufacturing Facilities to produce over 750 Milk Cooling Tanks per Annum.
Turnover of the company was growing steadily and has touched Rs. (Indian) 145 million (US$ 3.2 million) in 2009-2010. The company has Service Centres across India managed by regional offices located in New Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad and Moga Punjab.
ISF has exported to India Softy Ice Cream dispensing machines worth more than $4 million. |
