Actor Sanjaya Leelarathne’s debut cinematic direction ‘Selvam’ won two awards at the Kuala Lumpur U.D.C Film Festival in Malaysia. The film won awards for the best Asian film for the year 2011 and the Best Upcoming Director.
Sanjaya Leelaratne, award winning actor, award winning dialogue and screenplay writer for the cinema and also an administrator is back with his long awaited dream of filmmaking.
A story of a selfless hero in uniform who continues his battle of breaking the racial barriers once he won the war, the film is produced by Mohammed Mujaideen while Rohana Weerasinghe is the music director. Selvam is slated to be released on the CEL circuit cinemas around the country.
‘Selvam’ cast with veteran stars includes Malini Fonseka, Joe Abeywickrama, Shalini Tharaka, Santhalingam Gokularaj, Chandika Nanayakkara, Lakshman Mendis, Jayani Senanayake, Nadaraja Sivam, Anuruddhika Dilrukshi, Sanjaya Leelaratne, N. Puvanalogany, Denny Abinesh and Sasindi Nawanga Hewapatha.
Behind the screen ‘Selvam’s cinematographer is Jayanath Gunawardena and Ranjith de Silva is the art director. Music direction for the playback is by Ranga Dasanayake while Uresha Ravihari does the playback singing. Executive Producer is Dr. Mohan Lal Siribaddana and production manager is Nimal Padmasiri and assistant director is Thilina Boralessa. |
