‘The Christmas Wish List’, the maiden Christmas Musical by Music.inc will come alive on the 13th and 14th of December at The Lionel Wendt Theater.
Music.inc (Music Incorporated), directed by Shannon Jacob is a combination of singers, dancers and musicians who banded together at the inception of 2011 to share their common passion for the art. This Performing Arts groups not only believes in presenting music of the highest quality but also upholds a strong commitment to supporting a need prevailing amongst the children in our society, every time they take center stage.
Their debut show, “The Wish List”, that was held on the 26 April, was a sold-out success. The proceeds of the show funded the much needed medication for the pediatric ward of the National Cancer Institute, while additionally granting the numerous wishes on the wish-list of the children in the wards. They have since performed at Artwalk, organized by The Warehouse Project, The Unchained Melody, organized by Backstage Event Solutions in aid of The Colombo Home for Children Needing Special Care and other such charity events.
The proceeds of the show will once again be dedicated to their initial project with the National Cancer Institute Maharagama. Fulfilling a second wish-list seemed appropriate having being moved by the experiences they had during their time with the children at hospital. In their experience they were appalled to discover the numerous admission of little children, the high fatality rate pertaining to the disease and the amount of suffering children and their families endure; not just due to the disease but also due to poverty and the scarcity of such services in the country. In addition to the wish list itself, we will once again donate drugs to the ward, as the hospital is in dire need of support in providing the children with the best treatment possible.
“The Christmas Wish List” is a show that will cater to everyone, young or old who loves everything that Christmas is about from the celebrating the birthday of Jesus Christ to the musical celebrations, Santa Clause, the love in the air to presents galore that the season so generously bursts with!!
