Lucky Dias, who had won a number of awards for his acting talent since 1980s, has now won in a different category, as a host, at the recently held Sumathi Tele award.
Starting from the first Wijaya award for the Most popular Actor for his role as Baladeva in ‘Yashoravaya’ in the late 80’s, Lucky Dias has been winning awards for the past 2 decades in different catagories such as Best Actor, Most popular Actor, Best Producer, Best Director at Sarasaviya, O.C.I.C.,Wijaya, Sumathi and Presidential awards.
Lucky won a special award at this years Sumathi Teleawards for his role as host in “Sirasa Obada Laksapathi”
“Laksapathi” is Srilankan version of “Who wants to be a millionaire”. This programme is running in more than 100 countries worldwide. Everywhere the worldover a very famous personality is made the host of this show,” said Lucky.
India’s greatest star Amitabh Bachchan is the host of “Kaun banega crorpathi”. He was chosen by the British franchaise team to host the show after half a dozen of talent was rejected.
“I’m grateful to the jury of Sumathi awards for honouring me in this manner. This award is my most cherished out of all the awards I have won. Simply because it’s outside my acting talents. And all my fans are absolutely thrilled about this award as they say they miss me on the show now” Lucky said. |
