It is a never ending story for the popular band Misty in the year 2012 too. They have just finished a hectic year with icing on cake like much talked about New Years Dance at Cinnamon Lakeside. ‘We were so hectic during the season, performing almost all the thirty one days in the month of December.
We have performed at most of the gigs and dances going around the City. It was an unforgettable end as we had a fantastic New Years Eve Dance by the pool with over 520 guestS in attendance, who came from all around the world’ said Rajitha Rupasingha, the leader of the band ‘Misty’.
Misty was on tour in USA and
Australia during the early and mid 2011 and they were the most sought after dance band in Lankan music scene. ‘It was a hectic year. Things are slowed down a little bit although we are busy performing for various events in January and February’ he added.
The band is preparing to take off to Qatar for their first overseas tour in 2012. Misty will be in action at the ‘Joes Valentine’s Dance’ in Doha organized by the St. Josephs College Old Boys in Qatar. The event is going to take place on the 16th February at the Ramada Hotel in Doha.
‘This is our first overseas gig for the year and as we prepare for a world tour which in yet to be finalized’ Rajitha said.
Misty is very much in action in Colombo. They are still performing at the R n’ B every Wednesday and at the ‘Mix Bar’ at Taj Samudra on Thursday.
The latest addition to the band Melina Fernando seems catching the glimpse of every music lover with her style of singing.
She has performed with Misty during the season. ‘Many of you may know by now that our latest addition to the band Melina, who is an extremely versatile singer to jion Misty. Her capability to handle modern contemporary music to the evergreen is a treat to listen’ he said.
Melina sings hits from Adele, Lady Gaga to Tina Turner, Olivia Newton John to Whitney Houston.
‘Overall we are all having a ball and I’ m so glad and happy that worth waiting for 10years to pick the right one, the one I want the support on front line’ he added.
Misty will be on their first world tour in 2012 covering cities in US, Canada, Europe, Hong Kong and Australia starting from April this year.
