Australian Mike Harwood a PGA tour Winner in his day stamped his class on the Senior tour and marched away from the rest of his field with another sterling performance. Mike followed up his first round with another 5 under par final round to Win the 36 hole Sri Lankan Masters 2012 on10 under par, seven strokes clear of Noppajak Meesom from Thailand who was 4 under par in the final round moving up the ladder and past his compatriot Jamnian Chitprasong who was in second place overnight. Ahmed Bateman from Canada was consistent with another 2 under par round to share joint 2nd place with Nopajak Meesom.

In a very competitive field of 52 Senior Masters comprising current Senior Masters Tour Golfers, Sri Lankan Senior Master Nandasena Perera finished a very creditable 9th with an even par final round climbing about 8 places after the first round. Nande finished ahead of Matt Richardson, Keith Murray, Glenn Barry, Terry Gale among many other well known names on Golf Tour Circuits. There was quite a ' purse ' distributed among all the participants who finished with consolation tokens of cash going down to the 52nd place.
The first ever Senior Masters Golf Tournament held in Sri Lanka at the picturesque and most challenging Par 73 Victoria Golf & Country Resort Golf Course has won many hearts. The Golfers and the; ‘Fan Club' that came over look forward to many more trips in the future!
