The International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka and the Shippers' Academy Colombo has organised a seminar on March 24 featuring Dr. Maximilian Burger-Scheidlin, Executive Director of the International Chamber of Commerce, Austria (ICC).
He specializes in prevention of commercial crime and corruption within companies, counterfeiting, and root causes of global crime, anti-money laundering strategies and global competitive challenges to business, international business contracts, international outsourcing and reduction of commercial disputes. He will discuss these issues at the event in Colombo.
The organisers of the event said most businesses tend to take contracts not too seriously as long as a problem does not arise. In today's global business environment this could be a very big risk. Across the globe businesses have lost millions of dollars and cargo due to negligence and ignorance of executives making serious errors and omissions when drafting international contracts, they said. |
