Special train services for pilgrims intending to visit the sacred city of Anuradhapura for the upcoming Poson Poya have been arranged, a Sri Lankan Railways spokesperson said.
Already two additional trains have left Colombo Fort railway station for Anurdhapura yesterday while six additional special services will be operated today which is the eve of Poson Poya, Chief Railway Controller Nihal Fernandez said.
He added that all these services will be running with limited stops while additional carriages would also be attached to the other scheduled trains to accommodate the large crowds that are expected. There will also be two special train services from Matara to Anuradhapura today, he said. |
