Since opening its doors in 1975, Griffith University has come to be regarded as one of Australia’s most innovative tertiary institutions and one of the most influential universities in the Asia-Pacific region. We have grown to be a large multi-campus institution with internationally recognised strengths in teaching and research.
In 2011, Griffith was placed in the top 500 global universities on four of the major and most credible world university rankings: These comprise the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), QS World University Rankings; the Times HE World University Ranking; and the Leiden Ranking. Griffith now has over 3,500 full time staff and offers more than 300 degrees across five campuses. Griffith is Australia’s ninth largest higher education provider. Griffith continues to grow, currently undergoing a $320 million facility upgrade across our five campuses, including a new $150 million Griffith Health Centre at the Gold Coast campus.
Griffith Health is one of Australia’s largest health faculties with over 6500 full time students enjoying state-of-the-art learning facilities and the most up-to-date teaching programs. We continue to introduce new programmes such as the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (2010) the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (2011) and the Bachelor of Medicine/ Bachelor of Surgery (2013) to our extensive international programme offering.
Griffith is also home to an internationally accredited Business school, recognised by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) - International. This accreditation is considered one of the highest achievements for an educational institution, with less than five per cent of the world’s business schools receiving the accolade. Griffith Business School is also recognised by the Aspen Institute’s ‘Top 100’ for its leadership in integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into its programmes. Our MBA was ranked #26 in the world - the highest Australian ranking - in the 2011-2012 Beyond Grey Pinstripes Global Top 100.
