‘First Friends’ to lead the kids

Living in today's competitive society, we constantly strive to provide the best for our children and nurture them. ‘First Friends’ preschool to brighten the future of the nation's children was Mrs. Tovini Wijeratne. This preschool located at No. 1 A, Nittawala Road, Katugastota has been in operation for 12 years now . The first Friends preschool, which was established in this way, is built on a vision inspired by international standards. Its principal, Mrs. Tovini Wijeratne, expressed her views to Lankadeepa about her preschool as follows.

‘During my eight years abroad, I saw preschool education being implemented in other countries at a very high level. I also wanted to learn about it. Later, I came to Sri Lanka and studied preschool education while working at an international school. I currently hold a Master's degree in Education and am an internationally recognized AMI Preschool Diploma holder’.

‘I first started First Friends Preschool with 30 children. Currently, about 250 children aged 2 to 5 years are studying in this preschool. I have a team of experienced teachers who are AMI Preschool Diploma /Graduate holders. Children between the ages of 2-3 years are divided into Play Group class, children aged 3-4 years into LKG class, and children aged 4-5 years into UKG class, and the children are given a very creative curriculum tailored to their ages’.

All curriculum and activities here are conducted in English. Through special multimedia programs, children are not only provided with the necessary facilities to develop computer and English knowledge, but also opportunities for developing dance, singing, art and creative skills, practical and swimming exercises, social ethics, physical development, and group activities.

The children studying in this preschool are not limited to education alone. They are past the age of play. Therefore, we work to provide education through activities without damaging their mentality. That is the specialty of our school.

 This preschool receives many applications every year. Since space is limited, only a limited number of children are admitted. We intend to accept applications from children from now on. "In parallel with First Friends Preschool, your children can study English ( Elocution) and Computer ( IT) courses through First Friends Higher Education Institute (First Friends Campus), " she stated.
