People’s Leasing and Finance PLC has presented essential medical equipment to strengthen COVID-19 testing and treatment at three government hospitals in the Southern Region - District General Hospital Hambantota, Base Hospital Tangalle and Divisional Hospital Beliatta at a cost of over Rs. 6 million.
The handing over ceremony was presided by Minister of Irrigation and State Minister of National Security & Disaster Management and State Minister of Home Affairs Chamal Rajapaksa, Minister of Youth & Sports and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development Namal Rajapaksa and State Minister of Aviation and Export Zones Development D. V. Chanaka, the company said in a media release.
The handover took place in the distinguished presence of the Chairman of People’s Bank and People’s Leasing & Finance Sujeewa Rajapaksa and the Chief Executive Officer /General Manager of People’s Leasing and Finance Shamindra Marcelline and the officials of People’s Leasing and Finance PLC
Medical items included a PCR machine to the District General Hospital Hambantota were accepted by Dr. V. G. S. C. Ubeysekara, Hospital Director, and the essential equipment packs for Base Hospital Tangalle and Divisional Hospital Beliatta were accepted by Dr. (Mrs.) D.R. N. Saranasinghe Medical Superintend of Tangalle Hospital and Dr. M.D. Priyantha, District Medical Officer of Beliatta Hospital respectively.
