The festivities began on 29th November 2024 with the much-anticipated Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Cinnamon Red added a bold, urban twist to this beloved tradition, wowing guests with a dramatic performance as Santa Claus made a thrilling descent from the 26th floor, capturing the skyline of Colombo in a truly unique entrance. Waiting to greet him at the base was Mrs. Claus, adding her charm to this magical evening. Together, they turned a wet and cloudy November night into a heartwarming urban Christmas tale that delighted guests of all ages.
The highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of a dazzling 20-foot Christmas tree at the hotel’s entrance canopy. With a swipe of his iPad, General Manager Mr. Terrence Fernando lit up the tree and the building in a cascade of vibrant colours, symbolizing the start of a bold and joyous season. Guests were treated to homemade mince pies, mulled wine, and sweet cashews, enjoying a cozy yet contemporary take on cherished Christmas traditions. Celebrating its 10th year of redefining Colombo’s skyline, Cinnamon Red’s creative and bold approach to the festive season embodied its innovative spirit.
The celebrations continued with lavish feasts at Flavoured restaurant, where guests enjoyed; Christmas Eve Dinner Buffet, Christmas Day Lunch Buffet, and Christmas Day Dinner Buffet. Each spread featured a range of international dishes and traditional holiday favourites, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all.
As the year drew to a close, Cinnamon Red Colombo hosted two spectacular New Year’s Eve events that epitomized its modern and vibrant spirit.
