CSE trading stopped due to power outage
Trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) was halted for more than 20 minutes in early trade on Wednesday due to a power failure, brokers said.
They said the power at the World Trade Centre (WTC) building where the CSE is at went down at about 10 am and the WTC building management had started the generators to restore the power. This came on the back of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) announcing a schedule for countrywide power cuts that will be imposed for the next two days ON Tuesday.
These power cuts will be imposed on Wednesday (16) and Thursday (17).
