An international conference in association with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and featuring Nobel laureate Muhammmad Yunus from Bangladesh will be held on July 11-14 to mark Sri Lanka’s golden jubilee of tourism.
According to May 3 cabinet decisions released by the government, the Ministry of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau is organising the conference on “Tourism: A Catalyst for Development Peace and Reconciliation” with the participation of about 100 foreign guests including resource persons and journalists with the technical assistance of the UNWTO.
Prominent personalities including the UNWTO Secretary General and Nobel Prize winner Dr. Muhammad Yunus will participate in the event. The event will be held in Pasikudah in Batticaloa from July 11 to 14as a main component of the golden jubilee celebration of the Sri Lanka’s tourism industry. - ENDS -
