Colombo bourse on Tuesday closed with negative returns for the second consecutive session amid the political uncertainties with the main All Share Index swinging between gains and losses, analysts said. This index crossed 7,090 mark in the opening hours but failed to maintain the optimistic momentum and shed 11.55 index points to end at Rs. 7,067.11 while 20-scrip S&P SL20 index declined by 8.48 index points or 0.22% to close at 3,915.85. Price declines in high cap counters such as Ceylon Tobacco Company, Nestle Lanka and Ceylinco Insurance dragged index performance. The Daily market turnover recorded a 3-month low of Rs. 329 million. Sampath Bank emerged as the top contributor to the turnover with Rs. 23 million closely followed by Lanka IOC Rs. 22 million.
