The Ministry of Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade, one of the most powerful Sri Lankan ministries, is holding a media briefing on Tuesday, July 26 to discuss “objectives of Economic and Trade negotiations between China, Singapore and India”.
In an announcement, the ministry said Minister Malik Samarawickrama, who has been tasked with several important assignments, will address the media.
The minister, a close aide of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, is involved in the sensitive Indo-Lanka trade and services’ talk and other key engagements with China and India. – ENDS -

The Colombo High Court today (28) sentenced former parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra to three years of Rigorous Imprisonment over charges of the involvement of an abduction.
In his special statement, President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced that debt restructuring agreements will postpone all bilateral loan payments to foreign countries until 2028. Additionally, Sri Lanka will have until 2043 to repay these loans on concessional terms.
