STOCKS: Colombo shares rebound on NTB, JKH, East West trades

Business

Shares at the Colombo stock market on Thursday bounced back after falling the previous day, with analysts saying that trades on counters such as NTB, JKH and East West made it possible.

On Wednesday shares were down on uncertainty and worries over the state of emergency imposed in Sri Lanka at the start of the week.
Today, NTB saw a Rs. 160 million parcel trade at Rs. 80. JKH saw Rs. 60 million turnover while East West saw Rs. 118 million.
Analysts said that since the situation was returning to normalcy, the market’s sentiments shifted up.

The All Share Price Index was up by 0.27 points to close at 6,503.86 while the S&P Index up by 0.33 points to stand at 3,693.24. Turnover went up to Rs. 744 million, against the Rs. 371 million on Wednesday.  (DEC)
