The book launch of “Sir, the Parade is Concluded”, authored by Rear Admiral Palitha Weerasinghe, chronicling his life and career in the Sri Lanka Navy was held on Saturday (7) at the Central Bank’s conference hall in Rajagiriya, in the presence of a distinguished audience.
In addition to this memoir, Rear Admiral Weerasinghe also unveiled a collection of Sinhala short stories inspired by his naval service.
As part of the event, ceremonial book presentations were made to the Commander of the Navy, Priyantha Perera, and Lal Dissanayake, the principal of the Ananda College, Colombo, author’s alma mater.
Professor Sarath Wijesooriya delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the significance of Rear Admiral Weerasinghe's contributions to literature and service.
A copy of the memoir was also presented to the author’s wife, Mrs. Upeka Weerasinghe, as a tribute to her unwavering support and patience throughout his writing journey.
