Diary of Events: Theater and music

Sunday, June 16 is Father’s Day and a special Father’s Day Blessing service at 5 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Scots Kirk, Colombo 3 will feature the Music Ministry Choir directed by Ishan de Lanerolle. Soloists for the evening are Aloker Perera, Angelo Samarawickrema and Melanie Bibile. At the organ will be Neranjan De Silva. Entrance is free.

Also on the same evening, is a show presented by the Ravibandu Samanthi Dance Academy. At the Lionel Wendt at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, June 20, experience a new wave in music when Tilanka Jayamanne- the flautist, composer and musician teams up with fellow musicians Dillon Manuel, Sheam Deen, Daniella Perera, Melissa Pereira, DJ Lunatics and Camerati to present NeoSymphony. At the Lionel Wendt at 7.30 p.m.

This is another treat for music lovers as pianist and choral director Soundarie David Rodrigo with violinist Thushani Jayawardena present ‘Classically Different’ at the Lionel Wendt Theatre, next Sunday, June 23 at 7 p.m.
