Banana trees line the entranceway along with the white flower garlands strung above the dining area of the Galadari Coffee shop created the perfect ambiance for ‘A Taste of The North’ - a Jaffna Food Festival organized in partnership with 'My Sister’s Kitchen.'
The food festival got underway on August 29 and will continue till September 01 at the Galadari Coffee Shop. The buffet costs Rs 2,665 per head.
The clay pots served an array of different food, with many vegetarian options as well as many different types of seafood including prawns, cuttlefish, and shark varai.
The red hoppers, made with rice flour, omelet, and sesame oil were also two of the more interesting dishes available.
Another highlight was the Chakkara pittu, when jaggery is added to pitu, making a traditionally savoury dish into something sweet and light.
