Café Nihonbashi, which is famous for its authentic Japanese cuisine opened its new doors at ‘The Radh’ in Kandy. Nihonbashi was the first Sri Lankan restaurant to be ranked in the list of ‘Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants’ in 2013 and has remained on the list for six consecutive years. The restaurant has been ranked at no.45 in the 2018 edition of the list.
The latest extension of the café is built with an indoor seating capacity for 50 guests and is open for lunch and dinner. The café comes with a variety of cuisines that include Japanese favourites such as Okonomiyaki and Kani Chaha. One of the exclusive features of the restaurant is the bento box (a single-portion meal) that is available for dine in guests as well as for take-away.
“Café Nihonbashi strives to serve simple but great Japanese cuisine for the discerning Kandy resident and visiting tourists of all countries,” CEO of Nihonbashi, Dharshan Munidasa was quoted as saying in a press release.
‘The Radh’ which is a four star property managed by Icon Hotels is just walking distance away from Sri Dalada Maligawa. The hotel which has been constructed in a style that depicts the Kandyan traditional design pays tribute to the heritage and cultural majesty of the Kandyan Kingdom.
