The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands celebrated the floriculture industries of Sri Lanka and the Netherlands with ‘Sri Lanka – the Netherlands: Old Friends – new trends’. The event held at the Trace Expert City saw a floral competition, exhibition, workshop, and presentation.
“Sri Lanka and the Netherlands are long term partners with the Embassy of Netherlands facilitating multiple projects to transfer knowledge and technical know-how on improving Sri Lanka’s agriculture sector,” Netherlands ambassador Joanne Doornewaard said at the event.
The florists were given one and half hours to create floral arrangements with a set of tiger lilies, chrysanthemums and orchids, a mixture of Dutch and Sri Lankan flowers.
