Though security considerations in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks led to the cancellation of many public events during this year’s Vesak celebrations, they did not stop the people from marking the most significant date on the Buddhist calendar in their own way.

A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
