Original Drifters member Roy G Hemmings brought the sounds of Motown, in one action packed show in Colombo recently.
Featuring hits by The Three Degrees, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Stevie Wonder, Billy Paul, Four Tops, Temptations, Marvin Gaye and O’Jays to name a few, the show featuring Roy and his back-up singers organised by DK Promotions was a memorable evening.
A great showman and dynamic singer, best known as the longest serving former member of the legendary group, The Drifters, Roy Hemmings performed ‘Hits of Motown’ at the Colombo Hilton on June 5 at 7.30 p.m. The show was endorsed by Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.

I still remember the day of August 1947 floods, as it was the last school day at Kingswood College Kandy and the height the water soured.
