Yathra Jayawardane was first to take the stage at Swim Week Colombo Luxury Resortwear Edition which took place at Shangri-La Hotel Colombo Lawn on Friday July 6. A part of the Emerging designer segment of the showcase, her beautifully designed batik swim and resort wear was a strong start to day one of Swim Week Colombo. In addition to her Marlon Rae and Himashi Wijeweera showcased as a part
of the emerging designer segment as well.
This year marked the first introduction of resort wear to the previously done swimwear as well at the inclusion of the emerging designer segment.
The brands that showcased were Rumpunch, Koca, Charini, La Pard, Linea Aqua, Seasand, Maus and Heidi Klein. This was Heidi Klein’s third time showcasing at Swim Week Colombo, and her collection mostly consisted of beautifully designed swimwear with soft colours.
Among the different collections, Koca stood about for its complexly embroidered resort wear and its use of yellow and white dandelion prints. In addition, the swimwear by Linea Aqua used macramé to create truly luxurious swimwear that overshadowed the rest of the collections.
