The Workshop Players, one of Sri Lanka’s foremost English theatre groups, a non-profit amateur theatre organization have brought to the stage the best of Broadway musicals and theatre, such as ‘Oliver!’, ‘The Sound of Music’, ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’, ‘Evita’, ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, ‘Les Misérables’, ‘A View from the Bridge’, ‘My Fair Lady’, the ‘Shakespeare in the Park’ series, which ran for three consecutive years, and, most recently, the extensive musical theatre revue, ‘The Greatest Shows’.
The group aims to promote talent in theatre and peace through the Performing Arts. Founded in March 1992, the group has brought together hundreds of children, adolescents and adults from different theatre and personal backgrounds.
