Fourteen Indian fishermen were apprehended by the Navy on Saturday along with three trawlers while fishing in Sri Lankan waters.
The suspects aged between 20 and 70 had been arrested in the seas off Delf Islands in the North.
Navy said the fishermen would be handed over to the Assistant Director of Fisheries in Jaffna for a medical examination.
