A group of female soldiers have been awarded their diploma certificates following a six-month long course on 'pre-childhood development and pre-school teaching’.
Issuing a press release, Army said that a 20 personnel attached to the Sri Lankan Army Women's Corps (SLAWC) had successfully completed their pre-school teacher training programme.
The training programme was carried out by Jayasekara Management Centre (JMC) under the supervision of the Army Directorate of Training.
The SLAWC had provided guidelines to conduct the course since the Army Seva Vanitha Unit-managed pre-schools would need their services in future, Army said.
G.W.C Madushani of 1 SLAWC, J.L.H.M Jayawardane of 7 SLAWC, J.M.E.N Jayasundara of 7 SLAWC emerged as the top achievers in the programme.
