At least thirty Indian fishermen who engaged in illegal bottom trawling in Mannar sea of Northern waters were taken into custody by Navy last night.
The arrested fishermen were taken into custody along with four of their trawlers to Mannar naval base in order to hand them over to fisheries officials for further legal action.
The arrested fishermen are from Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. They are scheduled to be produced before Courts today. (N. Lohathayalan)
