A group of 42 people were hospitalised due to food poisoning during a religious event in Maskeliya last night.
The group consumed food which was served during the Chariot Festival of the Sri Muthumari Amman Kovil.
Ten persons among the group were discharged after receiving treatement at the Maskeliya Divisional Hospital.
However, 32 others including three children, 21 females, and eight males continue to receive treatment at the hospital.
Maskeliya Public Health Inspectors along with Nallathanni Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
