Forty two (42) out of 45 schools in Kandy city limits that were temporarily closed due to COVID related health concerns will re-open on Monday (14), Central province Governor Lalith U.Gamage said.
Trinity College, Thakshila Vidyalaya and Kalaimagal Tamil Maha Vidyalayam within Kandy city limits will remain closed.
The 45 schools within city limits and another five schools in Akurana were instructed to be closed by the Governor on November 25.
COVID cases were reported in Akurana, Mahaiyyawa, Bogambara with travel restrictions still in place in these areas. Several staffers from the ENT clinic of the Kandy General Hospital were also tested positive for the virus.
