At least 50 foreign nationals have been admitted to the special COVID-19 ward in Kopay, Jaffna for treatment, according to Northern Health authorities today.
Among them are a group of Indian construction workers who were working in a construction site commissioned by Colombo Municipal Council.
Earlier the Kopay Teaching College was converted as a special COVID-19 ward that comes under the purview of Jaffna Teaching hospital. Northern health authorities are on high alert for persons who are travelling into the province from other parts of the country as many new COVID-19 clusters are being identified in recent days.
