The Attorney General has filed indictments in the Puttalam High Court against Attorney-at-Law Hejaaz Hizbullah and Principal of Al Suhariya Madrassa School in Puttalam, Salim Khan Mohamed Shakeel.
They have been indicted under offences coming under the Prevention of Terrorism Act and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) Act, AG's Coordinating Officer, State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said.
The indictments include the charge of conspiracy under the PTA over alleged extremist speeches made to students at the Al Suhariya Madrassa in August, 2018. They have also been charged with inciting religious and racial hatred under the ICCPR Act.
