NPP presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake said voters must clean up the parliament by sending the current set of parliamentarians' home.
“We have to clean up the parliament and you have to do this at the next general election,” Dissanayake said at a public rally in Kurunegala.
He also announced there will be no duty-free vehicle permits or official residences for MPs while there will also be no pensions or official residences for former presidents under a NPP government, Dissanayake said.
“We will take over all these official residences and send a strong message,” he said.
