The suspect was arrested with a nine mm revolver, four rounds of live ammunition and 20grams of Heroin from the Modara area. Two swords, one three-wheeler, a motor bike with fake number plate was also taken into custody and handed over to Modara Police Station.
He was an accomplice of drug trafficker Kennedy Fernando also known as Bumma, who runs the network from abroad, with firearms, drugs and sharp weapons.
The suspect arrested was also wanted for an attempt to shoot a person from Kotahena, Galpotha junction recently.
A raid was conducted on the orders and instructions of the Commanding Officer of the Special Task Force, Mr. Varuna Jayasundara at the St. John’s Road, on Modara Street followed by information received by the officers of the Intelligence Division of the STF.
