Former Director General of the Zoo Ranjan Marasinghe assumed duties today as the acting Director General of the Department Wildlife Conservation (DWC).
Chandana Sooriyabandara who previously held the position of Director General of the DWC had taken pre retirement leave.
Mr Sooriyabandara is scheduled to retire in the month of April.
The acting DG marasinge added that he will prioritize endagred species conservation.
