Minister Ali Sabry had discussions with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina regarding tourism and international trade between the two countries at her official residence in Dhaka, Bangladesh yesterday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The Prime Minister encouraged acquiring more traction for Bangladesh vessels through the port of Colombo and invited further investments from Sri Lanka” states the Ministry of Foriegn Affairs.

Further, Minister Ali Sabry is currently in Dhaka to attend meetings as the Vice-Chair of IORA (Indian Ocean Rim Association), at the 22nd meeting of the council of ministers, says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Colombo High Court today (28) sentenced former parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra to three years of Rigorous Imprisonment over charges of the involvement of an abduction.
In his special statement, President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced that debt restructuring agreements will postpone all bilateral loan payments to foreign countries until 2028. Additionally, Sri Lanka will have until 2043 to repay these loans on concessional terms.
