The Sri Lanka army had handed over the printing and issuing of driving license back to the Motor Traffic Department, Army said.
The Army Media spokesman, Brigadier Ravi Hearth told Timesonline they handed over the task of printing and issuing of driving license back to the Department on Wednesday this week according to a cabinet decision.
He said they were also handed over the task of printing and issuing of driving licenses from January 1, 2022 according to a cabinet decision taken by the then government.
He explained that they have printed over 10 million driving licenses and issued over 1 million licenses and 1.4 million temporary licenses from January 1, 2022 to September 13, 2023. He added that they were able to save Rs 81 million to the government by carrying out the printing activities.
