Army (SLA) offered the technical expertise and knowledge to the Kalutara Prison for installation of its new CCTV (Closed-circuit television) security cameras around the premises and handed over to the prison authorities recently.
The troops of 11 Sri Lanka Signal Corps completed the project under the guidance of Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army Maj. Gen. Ashoka Peiris and Director Information Technology Brig. Chanaka Prathapasinha, Army said.
The installation is expected to strengthen security and monitor all illegal activities, happening inside and also in the adjacent area, the SLA added.
