A Cabinet Sub-Committee comprising four ministers has been appointed to study matters relating to the teacher-principal salary anomalies and report back to Cabinet.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee is comprised of Electricity Minister Dullas Alahapperuma, Industries Minister Wimal Weerawansa, Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera and Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunge.
The four-member committee was appointed by Cabinet after lengthy discussions on the situation regarding teacher-principal salary anomalies during last night's Cabinet meeting.
Teachers and principals are currently engaged in trade union action demanding solutions to their long-standing salary anomaly issue.
