The Cabinet has approved the recruitment of 1,683 senior posts in nine (9) institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Environment.
The advisor to the Dr Ravindra Kariyawasam explained that the institutions involved have increasingly made appointments to occupy the vacant posts since March 2025.
These appointments are approved by the government committee tasked by the cabinet for monitoring recruitment process as well as managing human resources in public service.
The Central Environmental Authority (CEA), Department of Wildlife Conservation, Forest Department, Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB), Department of National Zoological Gardens, Department of National Botanic Gardens, Water Resources Board, State Timber Corporation, Department of Coast Conservation and Coastal Resource Management, Marine Environment Protection Authority, GSMB Technical Services (Pvt) Ltd and the Sri Lanka Climate Fund are institutions under the Ministry of Environment.
