Cabinet has given approval to enter into agreement with four food outlets to operate within the departure/emigration area of Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake.
The successful bidders were HMS Host Services India, Barista Coffee Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, Jubilant FoodWorks Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and Gamma Pizzakraft Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
They were selected following an international competitive bidding procurement methodology to operate for a period of three years within four spaces / slots in the airport lounges.
The four were selected from six who placed bids in response to a government tender. The selections were based on the recommendations of the technical evaluation committee and the standing procurement committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The proposal to Cabinet was made by Minister of Transport,Highways,Ports and Civil Aviation Bimal Ratnayake.
