President’s Counsel (PC) Rienzie Arsecularatne will head a committee tasked with finalizing a draft anti- terrorism law.
Cabinet approved a proposal to set up the committee on a proposal by Minister of Justice and National Integration Harshana Nanayakkara.
The new anti-terrorism law is aimed at replacing the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) of 1979 and will be an improvement on the anti- terrorism law that was drafted several years ago but not enacted.
