An Army corporal has been taken into custody over the alleged murder of a resident in the Mattakkuliya area, Police said.
The victim was the husband of a Grama Sevaka in the Mattakkuliya area.
The corporal attached to the Mattakkuliya Army camp has been arrested and handed over to the police for further investigations.
The Corporal was reportedly known to the family.
The Army in a statement said that it was providing assistance for the investigations.
