A couple allegedly involved in the murder of a businessman in Pelawatta three days back, have been arrested by the Police today.
The 27 year old main suspect was arrested in Kadawatha and his 23 year old wife was taken into custody subsequently.
The suspects are residents of Dabare Mawatha, Narahenpita.
The murder of the businessman had taken place at his new residence under construction in Pelawatta.
The body of the businessman was found in the swimming pool.
The vehicle of the businessman which had been taken away was found near a garage in Negombo. The vehicle had stalled at the exit of the Katunayake expressway and later towed to the garage and the couple had left.
Police recovered the CCTV footage of the couple handing over the vehicle to the garage leading to the arrest.
